The mudguards have been repainted but otherwise the car has been maintained but not restored. This has been my daily drive however I have too many other classics. The cost of this restoration was well over 0,000 and it is a true collectors item that has won national concours awards. These cars offer impressive versatility - it can either be enjoyed as a roadster, complete with soft-top for occasional showers, or with the stunning dished hard-top in place it becomes a snug coupe perfect for the colder months. A factory RHD car delivered new in Australia when a Mercedes was an unusual car, this vehicle has been extensively restored. Lots of documentation dating back to the 1980s with the car, including the Data Card, showing its original colour scheme: 463 Copper Metallic main color, with 040 black hardtop, which the car still wears today. Never been fitted with engine mods, big wheels or spoilers, it is a pristine example of the first and most collectable RX7. I have fitted a Nostalgic AC System, this consists of Evaporator / Heater core, for four vents and defrost, that utilises the original air movement switches, extra holes cut by utilising a new blanking panel for where the old heater box pass through the fire wall, Sanden 508 Compressor, later M10 triple front pulley, dryer / pressure switch, front mounted condenser with a 10 thermo-fan that also activates with a variable temperature sensor in the radiator.
